Product Description
Native to the Florida Keys, the Black Olive Bonsai Tree is an outstanding bonsai that is not only easy to grow and maintain but can also be kept indoors. The Black Olive Bonsai Tree is also referred to as a Dwarf Black Olive Bonsai tree since the bonsai produce a smaller, black seed-capsule which resembles a black olive. These seed capsules are not edible. This easy to style bonsai can grow rather large up to 40 to 50 foot tall. This evergreen bonsai has a smooth trunk with very slat tolerant, wind resistant capabilities; making this bonsai also suitable for people who live by the beach. Occasionally the top of the bonsai will flatten with age, and the tree naturally grows horizontally, but can be trained for any bonsai style.Grows well in USDA zones 10B to 11. It is not recommended to expose the Black Olive Bonsai to freezing weather. Likes to be well-watered and should not be permitted to stay dry. The Black Olive Bonsai is generally styled windswept, which makes this an excellent choice for bonsai style. The plant's natural growth makes it ideal for bonsai.
The Black Olive Bonsai is a perfect introduction to Bonsai, not only for beginners but also for the more experienced and enthusiasts. It will make a great gift for any occasion or person whether it is a business associate, a mother, daughter, father, child, friend or a person who likes hobbies. | Zen Information | The ancient oriental horticultural art form or technique of Bonsai has been around for centuries. It was a way of life. A simple life of joy, peace, and serenity. A way to have a greater understanding and appreciation being in and around nature. It is symbolic of time and beauty with age. A story that is and will be told, from centuries ago to today, the sublime art of bonsai is practiced worldwide and continues to grow. A quick understanding of the word “Bonsai” will better allow grasping of the art of Bonsai. The word Bonsai is made up of two words "Bon", and "Sai" which means, in both Chinese and in the Japanese language, tray-planting or tray-growing. In other words Bonsai is a general term to describe a technique of growing plants or trees in a tray and not necessarily generalizing a specific type of tree. It is the technique or art form of growing many different species of plants and trees. |
